Hello, new here. I've kept all sort of fish over the years including some monsters (Oscars, Birchirs, very big plecos etc) but I'm due to pick up my first Piranha. It's a Serrasalmus Marginatus and it seems very few people are keeping them which means first hand accounts of keeping them are hard to come by and there aren't many pictures or videos of them on the web either. So does here anyone here have one or maybe they've kept one in the past? Thanks.

have you tried searching the species name in the search box?

I have done yes, there's only one thread and it wasn't really what I was looking for.

Thanks Diogenes, I've read that before and it's a good read but there's not alot out there on personal experience of keeping them.

I've only managed to find two other owners via the Piranha forums and thought I may be able to find some more here.

I'm a member on there and that fish is owned my another member now called Webbi, he's been very helpful. He's one of the two people I mentioned that I've found who own one.

I had no idea how rare they are in the trade even if they're quite common in the wild. I'm picking mine up on monday and I can't wait. It's very small at the moment (about 3-4") but a nice looking fish. I'll get some pics up as soon as I've got some.

they should be common in the wild (at least not rare to a point that they are an endanger specie) I've only seen it on sale from Shark Aquarium once (more than one came in but just that one shipment).
it would be awesome you can get some pics up, we all love pictures, well at least I do :)
