Anybody ever really get taken on a fish?

Hey guys,

So I've seen stories on here of people getting these unbelivable deals on fish that I never ever see in person. I.E. stories of $10 blue dempey's and what not. Anyone here ever really get taken on a fish as in payed way too much?
Now I believe that if you want a fish bad enough then it is worth whatever you are willing to pay. However, I myself have paid 50 bucks for a 1"-1 1/2" blue dempsey only to have it die 3 days later(thank god for store credit).

What's the worst you've been taken on ride for a fish?

i got taken twice on 3in. arapaimas paid around $80 plus 45 shipping both died what i didnt know was that at that size they usually die

I "won" fish from AquaBid from a dealer called Fishyfishy. I sent $112. We talked via e-mail and phone for 6-7 weeks. I never got the fish, and since November, he won't return my phone calls. It was my FIRST on-line purchase, ever.

I have learned that other people have recieved fish from this dealer, before the time I dealt with him. I have not seen him online since. I am assuming he went out of business, but I don't know for sure.
