I new to this site, I've been in the hobby for over 30 years, anybody got any updated news if there's ever going to be legal in the states to purchase a Asain Aworana. Tired of the Jardini and the Silver.

yep still, :( awwwwww i dont think it will ever lift up, oh and anyone hear any news on the ray bann, did it get lifted or was that a rummor

oh and :welcome: to MFK what fish and settups do u got at the moment

I have 3 tanks running right now, 220 Gal saltwater 220 gal fresh and a 125 salt, all 3 were saltwater, just changed one of my big tanks to freshwater with the hope of getting a Arowana looks like it's Jardini time

Jardini is still your best bet. Doesn't look like the ban will be lifted any time soon.

unless you have the guts to smuggle one there, you still have to stick to jar, lei, silver, black and the african.. m sorry bro..

Hey everyone, as you can see I'm new to MonsterFishKeepers.I have little monsters at the moment but soon enough We'll be building a 200 gallon to house my Peacock Bass,Silver aworana, and my Redtail Catfish. So I do have some Monsters on my hands. My baby Aworana wont eat anything so hopefully he'll take some guppies today.Hopefully someone can help on what to feed him.I tried Brine shrimp and Bloodworms but nothing.

Thanks everyone

Check out the sticky in the at the top of the Aro forum... lots of good feeding info there.

With that said, I've had great success getting baby Aros to eat small crickets... they love them! Make sure to gut load the crickets (carrots/jello stuff made for gut loading) to ensure proper nutrition.

The hardest time I had getting any Aro to eat was a baby Jardini. I found that if I stoof a good amount away just barely leaning inside the door, and literaly tossed crickets into the top of the tank (from across the room) he'd go after them. He would not eat with me present - too skittish at first. eventually I did the saem thing with Spectrum and Hikari pellets, and further down the line he became comforatable enough to feed while I was present.
