Here&There
I've been curious about the new G3s & G6s. My LFS said that even getting them in their store was difficult because they had to buy 3 of each just to get their foot in the door. I always am looking for the best options in filtration, but I am wondering if one G6 is better than 4-6 fluval 404s. They are expensive to say the least. Just wondering if anyone has had one up and running long enough to give a legit review of them.

i dont have one, but i'd say its all a marketing gimmick for the guy that must have all the latest high tech gadgets. its not going to do anything a regular canister filter cant do. all the display information is worthless really

better than 4-6 405s? jeesh what tank are you putting 6 405s on?

If your going to spend that amount. Mind as well get an Ehiem 2260. It's a 5 gallon bucket that you fill with media and runs 600-900 GPH. Case closed!

The 2262 is rated around 900 but the 2260 is far less. 2260 is rated at 396 gph. Both less with media.

I was talking about the 600bucks it would cost to get a G6, and I was comparing them to the 404s which are around 100bucks. 6x404s or a G6? Right now I am running 3 404s, an emperor 400 & an emperor 280 on a 240gal. Right now I'mnotworried about more filtration, but when my fish get closer to their adult size, I want at least one more 404/405. But it seems like maintenance would be easier with one or two super filters than 5-7 regular ones. Obviously, you can never have too much filtration.
