I like to know from the day you got it until now, how long and thick is your spiny eel? I currently have 2 tiretracks about 17-18 inch.
Another question is there a possibility that the tiretracks may eat the ropefish in my tank if they grow big? My ropes are currently about 9-10 inch.

I haven't had mine for yrs but I have had him for about 7 months and he has doubled in size. He was about 7" when I got him and is now 15-16". How long have you had yours? I wouldn't think they could eat a ropefish but I really don't know. I have my guy in with some smaller loaches...they are like 2" and he as of yet doesn't bother them. I keep him very well fed though so maybe that helps. If I end up missing loaches down the road I will know where they went!!! LOL!!

How big are your climbing perches?

One is about 5 inch and the other is 4 inch.

they should be fine just becuz of their body style id imagine cuz my was bout 10 inchs long and he couldnt eat rosies only guppies and ghost shrimp for him when i had him b4 my arrowana broke the thermostat and poisioned all my fish

I had a Fire eel for about 4yrs, got him at 6'' and jumped out of his tank while I was at the hospital having surgery. He was 36'' and as thick as the average mans fore-arm, he ate jumbo shrimp whole with shell and sucked down night crawlers like noodles.

Any small tankmates you have there?

No,,,,,,, Rays, Arowana, dats and big pleco, oh yeah one 7'' hoplo cat (we called the ca-ca sucka---he'd eat it fresh from the sorse as it was coming out)
I currently only keep rays as of now,,,I'll get another Fire eel or tire-track, I loved hand feeding it. I never fed mine feeder fish but lots of earthworms, then he started swiping shrimp from the rays and swallowing whole so everyone got shrimp and worms mostly.

I had 2 tire tracks with him when he was small they ate guppies but he'd only eat troutworms or red wigglers. I lost both tire-tracks to a gar, moved the gar and lost him to a red-line snakehead.

I have 3 Tiretrack eels fore 6 years now about 22 inches nows thy were about 4inches when I bought them they live with tanganikan Cichlids in a 265 gal they eat fish and krill and clam, I love them .

I have had my tire track eel for about 40yrs but he only gets big and aggressive at night when my wife comes to bed!! LOL LOL LOL:ROFL::ROFL:
