Anybody here kept ropefishes for years?

I like to know from the day you got them until today, has it grown pretty much? I've heard that they only grow about 12 inches in captivity, is this true?

they do grow very slowly, but with time, they should be able to get to about 15"-16" (depending on the individual also), and with even moreeeee time, may be they can get to about 18"?

My rope was almost 15"....until he swam up an intake tube that my cichlids apparently knocked off while I was at work... They truely are extremely slow growers.

I'd love to get a Rope but hear that they are so fragile.

^^^^ I don't think they are very fragile. Just they will jump a tank if given the opportunity.... probaby one of the better escape artists out there because they are so thin. Every little nook and cranny has to be covered.

Dragon77 on aquaria central has a 24" one!!

I haven't seen pics, hopefully he can share, I'll ask him. He's had most of his fish for years.

I'd love to get a Rope but hear that they are so fragile.

Give them a cave, then put the food outside the cave, like the method on handfeeding a bgk. Works for me.
