I kept a couple before, were eating algea wafers, flakes, and pellets. Think they prefer colder waters??... unfortunately, my ATF gutted 'em in the stomach and died. :( Very active fish, would look very nice in a school! I may pick some up later on in the near future. :) GL with yours.

They prefer cold water. If you try to keep them with your tropical fish they will die quickly.

thats all, come on now

I've had a couple of them but for some reason I just can't keep them alive.

They used to be very expensive back in the days I heard.

Gets very big, but grows EXTREMELY slow. I think less than 2" per year.

i was gunna get some for my 180.. tanks for the info

Havent had the chance to keep them but ive been wanting one since i saw it in Axelrods book Tankbusters. Its a cyprinid, same water conditions as goldfish and koi. Its omnivorous.... very active and i dont think matching it with tropical water fish would be the best setup for it.
