i have a pair of parrots in my 100g and notice the other day that it had laid eggs. unfortunaly my pleco ate all of the eggs. couple days later it had laid another batch onto the side of the fish tank and i noticed that the parrot is nibbling the eggs off the tank. anybody know whats going on? i have a 20g on the side where i can put them in there but not sure if they moved the eggs or my other fishes ate it.

Sounds like the parrot fish just ate the eggs, lol. Try getting them to lay on a piece of slate that you can transfer to the spare tank, filled with the same tank water, to see if the eggs really are fertilized. I thought most, if not all, male parrot fish were sterile?

i thought they were sterile, too!

Most are sterile but every once in a while one is not. They may not even be fertilized though. Was the males venting showing? If the female knows that the eggs are not fertile she may eat them.
