Anybody know what happened to my angelfish?

I'm going to check perams after my water change.... nobody else seems effected and this was within 2 days
It does seem quick for HITH, but the scarring looks just like it. It often will only affect a single fish. It seems like a lot of SA cichlids get it if they aren’t in the proper water conditions.

Yeah same here, usually there are at least signs of it before it explodes like this. If you have hex shield it would hurt to feed.
Think it’s a scrape. Clean water and watching. Make sure it eats.
I just did a large wc and ill do another in 4 days and add salt then
It could be that HITH was there previously but, in a minor role, but a secondary infection may have suddenly been added to make it worse.
I believe it is necessary to know the water parameters before the water change, not just after.
Reason being the conditions before, could have more significance to what caused the problem
nitrate before / nitrate after the water change
pH before, pH after
also hardness, conductivity whatever can be assessed.

Assuming classic Nitrites and Nitrate readings are ok.
If these appear to be white pits then may not be classic HITH. Could be caused by large Ph or water hardness changes with big water changes. Could also be temperature changes (such as during water changes). Could even be stray voltage. It's definitely stress induced if these are lesions not caused by scrapes.
