With all this catfish action lately, I could really use a connection down there willing to ship a few doradids to me.

You would have to find someone with export license- then someone here with import license.. So you're talking a transhipper.

It's going to be more of a hassle than anything.

What kind of doradids are you looking for? Some larger LFS order from SA wholesalers and at times they do take requests for fish or collect from a different area to try to find it.

LFS don't even know what a doradid is. All they have are striped and spotted.

So far no luck. Perhaps they are all extinct?

Oxydoras niger are available occasionally, but they get too darned big. I donated mine to the Portland Zoo last Saturday. If you are ever there check him out in the 12,000 gallon Amazon exhibit.

Yeah, he's a nice looking beast! Not getting any large species yet. Focused on the varieties that stay smallish for now.

Theres a lot of red tape to get around exporting now from south america. if you can find a imprter already then thats your best bet, ask at lfs for there lists..where are you loacted?
