I hate this stuff, root systems "sheds" and clogs up everything!

Anybody know if Water Lettuce is the same?

I keep it in my pond and once kept it in my jag tank the roots are kind of brittle or tend to snap off its good for combating algae and nitrates tho it can be kind of messy with bigger fish or strong current as far as lighting it grew fine with my single T5 set up

I've used it with great success as a filter plant in a lighted sump. It grows fast and does a good job of removing pollutants from the water.

Pretty easy to care for, needs only about 1 WPG. The root systems get long (up to 6 inches IME) and do not break off easily. It won't clog filtration unlike duckweed. It requires no added ferts, unless you don't have anything in your tank to provide some nutrition for it. Also you won't need CO2 because it gets that from the air.

Thanks all....

Love this plant! I keep them in my goldfish tanks and ponds.lol
