You would be better off w Eheim no problems in twenty yrs ,hugh media capabilty, trusted by millions for yrs the world over, super reliable and QUIET 2217 are running 20 yrs never a problem, I have six!

All I can say is that the product was mass produced for Petco/PetSmart(same to me). Seems like a nimbie filter. API should stick to chem, and food.

I noticed the canisters have "RENA" embossed on them. I like several of their design ideas. Separating the pump from the filter. Removable cartridges for easy maintenance. Expandable.

One the con side: They look kind of on the small side with very little room for Bio filtration. I don't really like filters that tie me to a particular manufacturer for media.
