Anybody use this pool filter sand?

Bought this sand at my local pool supply place. They only had this one kind in stock. Got it home and opened it up and was suprised to see it was quite white in color. Started to clean one bag and noticed how fine this stuff is. It didn't seem to want to come completly clean. Got it as clean as I could, but it still seems quite cloudy. Now I'm worried that this stuff might be too fine and floating bits might wreck my filters (FX5s). Wadda think? Should I try this stuff in a empty 20gal that I've got, or should I just take the remaining bags back and get different sand? Maybe play ground sand? I do however really like the color.

I use pool filter sand in my tanks and it works great. The type I use is different type sand but it is stock in a local pool supplier. What I have experienced it sinks very fast and settles well. Also cheap.

It takes forever to get it clean. Just when you think you're done, start all over. It's worth it in the end.

First time I cleaned sand I put it in a tub and kept swashing it around till the water was clean. It took forever. This time I put the sand in a pillow case and ran water through it till it looked clean. I had the pillow case in a tub so when it would fill up i would empty it out and i just kept going till the water was clear.

I thought play sand is finer than pool filter sand. Is that right?

I use Quickrete pool filter sand. Large particle size and i didnt rinse it at all. Just put it in the tank and ran the filters for about 12 hours before i put the fish in.
