Ok so my hysterix almost got killed by my 8" Senegal so I had to move him to a new tank so my question is that is their any type of poly that can be peacefully kept with a stingray? are endli's good? I know that Ornates are the most aggressive so I don't think tht would work.

yeah I been thinking endlis to put with the ray just don't wanna see ablood bath lol my 3 senegals ganged up on my ray it was bad

I don't think you can really try and pinpoint one poly that will be better than another. There are a lot more factors than just saying this one is better than that one. For example if you go on vacation and can't feed them for a while some will go after tankmates and some won't. It just depends on the individual poly itself. Most times almost all polys are pretty laid back if they are fed and cared for correctly, but there is always that oddball case like yours that even though everything was right it still happened. If you do decide to get any LJ I was suggest getting them small and growing them out with the Rays. When they are smaller their bites and such aren't as harmful so as they grow they can learn that the Rays aren't food and if they end up biting the Ray it wouldn't be as harmful as opposed to getting a 12" LJ and it accidentally bites the Ray while establishing dominance etc..,

They only did it once should I put the polys back in the tank cause maybe he did it out of curiosity I just got nervous cause he latched on and would let his mouth off the disc

I think it's more of a personal call. If it wasn't just out of curiosity would you want to risk the ray? If you would risk putting them back in do you think the ray would be healthy enough. Honestly I don't know your fish like you do so I don't know how they might react. If it were me I would probably put them in and keep them well fed for the first few days to make sure they don't even think about taking a bite out of the ray. On top of that I would keep them on a short leash so if you notice any aggression or more curiosity I would instantly pull them out.If you want to put them back in your best bet is to feed them very well and give them no excuse to even try to take a bite out of the ray.

Ok will do and my polys attacked him not out of hunger I've seen them attack my large goldfish out and the polypterus was acting as if the gold fish was prey and just attacked to kill. Idk I'm in a jam all three are currently in a 45 hex tank for now
