I was given a bunch of plants from a buddy that also had a few little plants of duckweed attached but im unsure of what the plant is
Anyone able to give me an id of this plant?

looks like it's in the Elodea genus- my guess is canandensis.
Looks like anarcharis. Also known as water weed I believe, very easy to grow and can grow planted or floating. A lovely plant in my opinion even though I kill it every time somehow.
Lol don't feel bad. I'm pretty much the same. I can't even keep duck weed alive even tho it's supposed to be a nuisance plant lol. And yet I have anubias, 2 different valesenaria, 2 different lilies and Penny wort. I have em in a dirted tank and use ferts but still struggle to keep em all alive.
If you have correct lighting setup anarcharis plant can grow 6 inches long within 24 hours and keep growing nonstop.
If these plants keep dying off on you then you should check your light/water parameter, your water must be extremely off the chart for them to die off on you. I'm not saying you guys don't know what to do but something off is present within your tank water.

Thank you for the input and yeah it definitely grows fast and didn't take long at all to get going in my tanks, 5 tanks all have it in it, and all 5 are growing nicely, my 75 55 and 33 gallon are all growing it the fastest
