as some of your know im looking at all my options for building my new 1000 gallon tank (13x4x2.5T) i am now considering going with acrylic for the viewing window... i know it doesnt seal as easily with silicone but if i use it i will most likley be using the "gasket" method and bolting the acrylic in place every 4 to 6 inches.. first off can i go 36inches tall with 3/4 cell cast? if not ill be fine with only 30 inches tall. and what is a estimated cost on how much im looking to pay for a 12x2.5 or 3 sheet of acrylic at 3/4 thick? i have just spent alot of time on google and i think about $500 to $700 is what im guessing.

I have some qotes from two acrylic companies when I ask checking at how big a fish tank could be feasble as part of a feasblity study.

A&C plastics qoted me at $1300 dollars for a two inch thick four foot high eight foot wide sheet of Acrylic

Gave me a qote for these sheet sizes. I asked these companies to try and find the point at how big I should think about my dream tank's size and what would limit it such as cost of the parts and how they would limit it.

Clear Cast Acrylic
2.00” x 48” x 96” -- $2.234
3.50” x 72” x 120” -- $21.449.09
4.00” x 96” x 168” custom cast sheet -- $40,543.08

The man at the company said that the four by eight foot two inch thick panel is the largest regular size that they cary at A&C plastics. But I think you might want to go up to a inch thick but the inch thick panel is a common size they carry at their company.

I was originally going to go with glass and I still probably will however i found a sight that sells 24x48 pieces up to 2inch thick cell cast acrylic and it's very cheap! If I can talk them into cutting me 48x30 I will build my tank with 3 viewing windows at 3/4 thick acrylic and hopefully only be into my 12ft viewing window for $350 to $450
