Ok so here's my problem my emp's have bred in my 75gallon with a ph of 7.7 and so I decided to try to breed them in a separate tank with a ph of 6.5 b/c that's what a book said to breed them in and they won't get busy, even after separating males and females and conditioning them the males will dance but the females don't seem to lay eggs, what would you suggest?

Go with what works

If you get something to breed in a tank, always take down all the stats you can of the tank. Every single little thing (whether you think it important or not, doesn't really matter). This way you will be able to replicate the parameters at a later time. Even down to the type of substrate, and chemicals used in the tank, temp, pH, KH, GH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphates, TDS, lighting level, tank size, filtration, etc.
