Anyone can help me with some monster fish for a 55gal??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you know me, im all about characins. but in the future u would need a bigger tank. ATF's, barracudas, etc.

wouldnt have long for an atf in a 55g would he?

well a 55 is rather small in the monster fish realm, it is like a 20gal to cichlid folks. I would recommend getting one of your favourite monsters as long as it is only around 1-1.5 feet I dont see having a monster community in the 55...

suggestions:

Nandus Nandus: big leaf fish, gets to 8" with a mouth big enough to eat a fish almost its own size. i own one and i have to say, although it was kinda boring at first i really like this guy now, not as much personality as a cichlid, but he is pretty cool.

(this guy is insanely skinny!!!)

any of the smaller upperjaw species of polypterus, such as delhezi, senegal, palmas polli, palmas palmas, ect. ect. they get to 12" have great personalities and i guarentee you'll be addicted to them after buying one.

(fruitbats delhezi....lol i always use fruitbat's picture when i show the del, hope he doesn't mind and too bad if he does lol)

you could also look into the needlefish, it looks like a gar (although its not) and gets to around 10".

its almost depressing how good you are at this, youve been a member for a few months and so far youve been a bigger help than me lol. im gonna agree with him and also take out the needle fish and replace it with an african brown knife, roughly 8" in aquariums and mine eats from my hand.
