Anyone see Animal Cops: Miami on Animal Planet tonight??? I heard they aired a show we did a few months back showing us rescuing, rehab and releasing a manatee named "Patsy". Wondered if anyone caught it...

I missed it. Ironically, I was out all day catching another injured manatee. Cold stress is really taking it's toll on them down here.

Wow!!! That's too bad for the sea cows.

haha.. who does that??? :D:D:D

We do! :D
Our team working with FWC Manatee Rescue and DRC. Yesterday we rescued a manatee suffering from both a boat strike (note the marks on the back) and cold stress (burns on the face from being exposed to cold temps). Now safe and sound.

Wow.. poor manatee.. your a marine bioligist right? That's what I want to do :D

Didn't see the show, but how does that boat handle? Never operated one like that before with the power plant up front.

Cool. We occasionally use jet drive boats on the rivers- those are fun.

How is the manatee? Do they recover well from the cold?

Yeah, they do very well once we get them into warmer water with a steady food supply. Our manatee rehab program is very successful.
