I got this butters catfish sold as a Gulper. He was an awesome deal either way and is quite the personality out all day playing :D

Nice catfish! I think that's a Two Spot Glass Catfish (Ompok bimaculatus). That lil' blue cichlid will soon become food when that catfish grow. It can grow to 15"+ and a true predator. That's a dwarf cousin of Wallago attu.

I thought it was an Ompok or a baby Wallago, never heard of Butters.

Butters is another name for the wompok . I found his exact picture in a freshwater fish guide its listed as a butters catfish. And he is going to be in a very large freshwater tank soon (With the tiger shovel nose) the cichlids have been moved out.

nice

Different, nice pics

Thanks everyone. He is an awesome cat active in the day time and he pounded the few feeders I had quarantined for 30 days. He also pounded ghost shrimp their attack is a lot like a tiger shovel nose. They could possibly be called... The poor mans gulper :) Except they get bigger. And also it looks alot like a brown knife mated with a gulper cat kinda lol

I just sent an e-mail to my supplier to hunt me one of this bad *** fish. They will become a great addition to my tank. Knowing that I cannot keep a walagu utto or lerrii so I'll just hunt this one to replace those monster size cousin.:)
