When setting up my tank i used the API Proper PH 7.0 (the powder ****) in my tank i did everything the way it was suppose to be i let it fully dissolve in a large bucket before adding it to my tank once it was dissolved i added it to my tank and the next day it was so cloudy you could barley see through it ]=

What is the ph of your tapwater, and what type of fish do you have? There's really only a few fish that NEED a certain ph.

Im not sure Ive never tested it i just added that stuff to make sure it was at least 7.0

im in the process of changing the water out now and getting it nice and clear again though so its all good just kinda made me mad

Like mentioned above there only a few fish that need a certain ph or if your trying to breed but that's a whole nother balls game. If you want to change ph there's better ways like bogwood crushed coral etc. Adding chemicals to change ph is like playing with a loaded gun.

I use neutral reg all the time...but my tap's pH is 10+ out of the tap and it drops down to about 9 after I age it. (Really need to get my RO unit running again) anyhow I have used it on numerous occasions and never had a problem with it. How old is your tank? if you had a major pH swing by useing the neutral reg it could have caused a bacterial bloom.

sounds more like the reaction formed a precipitate to me.

Could be, but that would mean he has somthing in either his tap or tank that is reacting very slowly with the neutral reg. I also considered that it was not a (relatively) immideate problem which would indicate a definate chemical reaction, but it developed over night which dosent nessicaraly mean it's not a chemical reaction but lends itself more to a bacterial bloom esp if it is a fairly new tank.

hey, i added the proper ph 7.0 yesterday and woke up seeing my tank was cloudy as well. but this product didnt even work, my tap water ph was 8.3, and after using the product, it moved down just a bit at say about 7.8 to 8.0? cant really tell the colors apart from my key chart, but i called my LFS and they said thats normal, it should clear up in a couple of day... is that true? .
