to be sure every one is alive and ok?? i do and it's an annoying habit but i can't seem to break it. i count for 3 haps, 4 peacocks, 3 labs, 3 acei, a rainbow shark, 2 syndontis cats and a pleco almot every time i look at the tank... which is a lot by the way. also it can be hard to count/find them all when they are swimming around a lot. i'm a little obsessive compulsive and just want to make sure if one is showing any signs of illness or acting weird. wish i didn't do this, at least not so much. anyone else the same way?

best way to count them is to take a good pic then count the images.

Funny, I do this several times a day too. Maybe not every time I look at the tank, but definitely first thing in the morning, when I get home from work, before bed, etc...

If I didn't do this I wouldn't have found the geo flopping around behind the tank. Managed to save him after 5 mins out of the water.

I do it every morning to make sure everyone is there, but its easy for me, all my fish come right up to the front to greet me lol. so your not the only one

I count my Cory's like, 5 times a day... lol

they all come up like they are shot out of a cannon when it's feeding time, but even then they are all intertwined going crazy in anticipation. :P

I do this every time I go in my room it's really weird but it's a habit kinda a good one if you think about it

My big tank yes.....

My mbuna tank.......pretty much impossible to get a head count qucikly, but the tank sits in my office so after spending an hour or so in there working, I subconsciously count them without really thinking. Too many females holding and not eating to do it while feeding.....

My other tanks are easy.
