Growth rates on mines are pretty slow, probably grow an inch or two only since first purchased this pass summer. Wondering how's the growth rate on everyone elses?
Anyone else own any leptobarbus hoevenii?

Mine have slowed way down at around 4". I have them in a growout with some festivums and nobody's growing, it's frankly beginning to piss me off. Mine came from the local Pet Supermarket and they seem to keep their tanks fairly cool, that might have something to do with it...I got a JD there and it isn't growing as quickly as others I've kept either.

I got them around last July or August and think they have only grown half an inch. Right now they're 4-5".

Yep, those are hoevenii, just like mine. I had a big one a long time ago, maybe 12-14", got it at my old LFS job as a trade in, the guy said it was a "shark". I'm planning a pond and if/when mine get over 16" or so I'll probably put them in there.

Now that I've got him in my 170 he's really started putting on some growth, he's easily 8" and pretty chunky...though any pond or tank upgrades are on hold so he's for sale. He's started to harass my chalceus and arowana, he doesn't actually nip as many barbs do but he constantly nudges them around.
