Little background. My Jardini has almost been with me a year. He's almost 16" as well. Recently, since hitting a foot long, his attitude has changed dramatically and he's become fierce. His tankmates all have to hang low or he charges them and sends them back into hiding. Last month while doing a water change he nailed my hand and made my thumb bleed leaving teeth marks. Last night when I got home I noticed an odor in the room so I walked over and took a whiff and the bastard tried to jump out of the tank and bite my nose off! It scared the crap outta me! Thank the maker of heavy hoods for keeping him in and away. The last time my snake bit me I traded him for a tortoise but, I'm not sure I'd trade my Jar for a turtle or even three? But, damn, I'm gonna need to wear chain-mail the next time I do a water change! Or boxing gloves!!

i'm kinda scared of my silver also. but he's sick right now i think :(

Normal Jar behaviour. You're lucky it still stands tankmates.

Watch out for those odours, usually it is ammonia....

For some reason they didn't eat that morning. All the food was sitting on the bottom, though they were all hovering up top for more? Just another excuse for a water change I guess. Put the pH back to normal. He also goes arround the tank and unplugs the airstones? Weird.
