Stuck in the box again.
I've only watched my guys do it twice so unfortuatly no vid.

After a WC and putting the decorations back in one of my bigger fish goes down to the bottom about an inch near the gravel and starts thrashing back and forth in place with its mouth wide open. Even if there are other fish around they don't leave but nobody attacks. They still know I'm there so they can't be too shy about it whatever it means.

Did I put the stuff back wrong and they are mad? :nilly:

First time I chased them off from doing this, took a bit more work than the average spooking but the second time the fish just stopped and acted like nothing happend.

Any ideas on why?

My P's use to do all kind of strange things after water changes. A vid would be nice. Water changes really liven mine up everyweek. He's taking a water sample to make sure its kosher :D Could be territory, or tryin to get a lady.

Ive seen mine do 'jabber jaws' when they are hungry, and 'spoon' with other. one nips at the other, the one that got nipped at does a back and forth mouth open seizer type thing, than the other does it. hard to describe. no one gets hurt. There all happy tho. Once and a while i catch them scratching on something, but very rarely. once a month if not longer.

Mybad I thought you had or assumed you had rbp. Maybe its male digging a nest.bet he's as skinny or the skinny one of the tank.

True, this time. Ive had them for... year and a half, and it has been common, once and a while they nip or chaise one across the tank. Only once has someone had a small bite taken out of them, behind the head, prob less than a 1/4th mouth full. I have seen them digging a nest, but every time (twice now) they have done it, we had to move. This time was the last time for moveing, so... *crosses fingers) they may give me babys.
