I bought a G3 a month ago. I'm surprised how well it actually works. I added a Eheim to the 55 gallon as well. The mechanical cartridge would probably last a month, but I cleaned it at 2 weeks, because the flow was down a little less than half. It's the easiest canister I've had to clean and the supplied brush works good cleaning out the cartridge. I think I'm going to replace the carbon in the chemical cartridge to purigen. It seems to be a pretty good little filter in general.
Anyone else use a Fluval G3?
