On vacation in Minnesota and went to Seaquest aquarium in Roseville assuming it would be some small scale (It’s in a shopping mall) saltwater type aquarium, but was shocked to see huge monster fish exhibits along with the typical saltwater and domesticated mammals. Asked some questions and it turns out that all of the fish (monster) are rescues from individuals who bought from LFS and didn’t know what they were getting into. Here are some sample photos.

We have a 'Blue Zoo' here in our mall, interactive stingray exhibit, couple big salt tanks, and a large local rescue tank. Seem to be part of the same chain by the looks of it! Cool to see these rescues popping up.

Interesting. Not often you see Red Devils being used as dither fish. :)

Brilliant displays, and fair play to the guys for giving these monsters a new lease of life after their initial disastrous encounter with their previous owner. But again it just highlights the bad side of our hobby. Uneducated naive hobbyists who take fish on from their LFS not knowing what they're getting into.

For these fish there was a happy ending but for many many more maybe not so much.
