About a year and half ago a LFS went out of business. They auctioned off everything in the store. I got a wet/dry filter for $75 that was originally $300. It is able to handle 1200 gph. I never got around to getting a pump due to money and need. Now with my 125g getting full i need to thin out the herd and put some fish in the 75g and use the filters on the 125.

When I was at a LFS yesterday i was looking at sump pumps in the pond section. Mag Drive 12 was $150. With my budget that is steep. Kept walking around and in the Power head section they more sump pumps. They had a Deep Blue Triton 5 http://www.fishtanksdirect.com/DeepBlue1350GPHTriton5.aspx , 1350 gph. At about 4ft it was rate around 1200 gph. It was priced at $75. I grabbed it. Working great for the first 24 hours. Very quiet.

Anyone else ever buy one of these. I had never heard of the brand before. The LFS had lighting and aquariums by this company as well. Their website is very lacking in info. http://www.deepblueproducts.com/ Seems a little shady.

What do you think?

just bought one last week. hasnt got here yet nice to know someone else having a good experiance with one. and by the way where did u get "At about 4ft it was rate around 1200 gph".

anyone else ?

mines been running in salt water for a while now and works great. The only issue i have is some air gets traped in the impeller housing when you durn it off so you just have to start and stop it a few times to get the air out.

I have had mine (not sure which model rated at 900gph) running for over 7 months with no issues.
