Anyone ever built a 50 gallon drum/barrel pond vaccum?

Looking to help clean my buddies 4500~gallon pond. I have two 50 gallon blue drum/barrels and was looking to convert one into some type of pond vaccum so we can try to do some serious cleaning. Has anyone ever built one or is there a write up somewhere?

personally I'd go with the manual pool vac on the end of a pole and use the pond's pump to run it.

+ a pole + tube to hook to your current pump.

Run that into the pond's mechanical filter then clean the media once you're done. Should work fine unless you have very fine rock or if you use sand. On larger river rock bottomed ponds it works fine.
