Hi
Anyone ever drill rubbermaid stock tank?

Wanted to drill 2 - 1/4 inch holes where marked in red .

I am not sure if safe to drill stock tank plastic .I know plastic bins will crack not sure if same with this type material.

Thanks

Is that were the inlets and outlets are going

use a wood hole saw bit. cuts very easily, just a little trimming afterwards. if you're doing bulkhead fittings, you can go 1/16 inch under and let the fitting cut a thread into the tub. makes a very watertight seal. have fun.

sorry - just re-read your post. thought it was 2.25 inch holes, not 2 x 1/4 inch. just use a wood bit. forget about going undersize.

If you want to ensure a clean cut, clamp a piece of scrap plywood to both inside and outside making a sandwich of the plastic. It reinforces it while drilling, and gives a much cleaner and more accurate hole. Best of luck.

If its any help, I have a 75 gallon rubber made stock tank that I've been using on my pond for three years now.........I have drilled holes in it for plumbing and it hasn't shown any cracks yet.
Oh, and I live in zone 6b if thats any help
