I have been talking with a lot of my neighbors about the weird and exoctic things we have by us. The newest thing I heard about is a Jesus Lizard. They are pretty creepy from what I have been told, and they run around on two legs and bite really hard. Has anyone ever heard of them? Is there another name for them? I cant seem to find it online.

 there is no such thing as a jesus lizard.. i will see what i can find on the species of lizards in your are;)

the more and more i think of it there is no lizard that is going to chase you to bite you... the only way you will get bit will be if you grab it

i will post a few pics tomorrow if you know what this lizard looks like and we can narrow them down

Actually the name Jesus lizard was first recorded as being used aboard the Beagle by a young Charles Darwin, the name was dissapproved by the ships captain.
It refers to the Common basilisk lizard from South America (Basiliscus basiliscus). They are sometimes sold as Jesus Christ Lizards
The name comes from the habit of younger ones running across the top of water surfaces to escape predators. Very cool lizards that require large enclosures to keep right, there are several reported breeding populations in Florida. They get to about 2 1/2' long and eat inverts and small vertabrates, They have a bite about as bad as the same sized iguana.

They run from you, and like untamed iguanas will bite if you grab them
