im thinking of just leaving everything behind......dont have a particular place to go. anyone done this. even if it wasnt done to leave but just as an experience? tips? suggestions?

thanks

I'm sure some people have done it. I sure wouldn't do it alone though.
I overheard a guy on a train trip I took saying he and his friends did a "surfing safari" in the 70's from central Cali to Chile in S. America! It "only" took 4 years to go one way!

whats a surfing safari? they stopped at all the beaches to surf along the way? lol

Yup!

i only hitch hiked 14km lol, 3 different lifts though, and i only flagged down 1 of those w00t!

Go for it, hitch hiking is fun, but pack a blade or somethin to defend yourself with incase you get one of hte bad peoples...

Maybe back in the day it was safe but no way would i concider doing this type of thing now,,,,,,,spoken with an australian trucker who said they always used to pick up hitchikers but no way would they do it nowadays,,,bad things happen,,,and unless your sure you can handle yourself then i wouldny do it,,,,,then if you could handle yourself and built like a brick s#@ house im sure people wouldnt pick you up,,so its a lose-lose
