I've caught a few 3footers on dead minnow last year, and I've always thought that they would make a cool MF. Anyone ever tried? I know they grow huge, so a huge tank and lots of rockwork I'm guessing. Can't try it yet, haven't got a tank big enough or the funds! Just a little incentive for the future...

Hi Anguilla anguilla would not be a good idea for the home aquarium they are top escape artistes as you have fished for them you know how strong they are and very messy eaters. I could see it as being a feasible idea with a strap (small eel) but I would not recommend it.

Good point, they are very good fighters 
They are also impossible to keep still, so a regular lid may not hold them. Sounds tricky...
