I went to my LFS because I needed a puffer for my 210 that's getting bad with snails. I saw this guy and thought it was really cool looking but I know nothing about them. Well, I know they get really aggressive and they don't need salt.
Puffers about 2 - 2 1/2 inches.

Tank mates are 9 Uarus ( about 5 inches), 10 giant danios, a small clown loach, and 2 bristlenose plecos.

Do you guys think this combination will work?

These are hit and miss when it comes to eating snails; some will, some won't. One thing that is for sure though, is they will eat any fish that they can and shred the fins of those they can't. Not a good mix in my opinion.

Clown loaches won't eat the snails? If you just have one I would definitely add more.

That's what I was afraid of. I'll keep an eye out and pull him if I see anything.
So pretty much, he needs his own tank?

Yes, I would put him in his own tank. By the time that you notice aggression it may be too late. It will claim a territory and attack anything that swims close. Fish that swim above it will likely have their stomachs removed.

Just got home from work.
Every Uaru is missing a small piece of tail fin

And I don't see any snails either.

Sorry to hear that, Target puffers are very aggressive and will operate in low light levels, they are more proactive than lurker species such as T. palembengsis orT. Muirus, its a bit late now but I would go for South American puffers C. Asselus ( but they may not be ancistris friendly)

Thank you.
I took him back for store credit.
I picked up 3 large clown loaches instead.
