I was searching the web or light weight polyurethane foam and came across this. Has anyone ever used this to make a back ground? I was thinking of making a mold out of a side of a mountain or huge rock. Their casting materials can be pre-dyed and last forever. I think it would be awesome to make a light weight back ground that's already colored with this stuff. Its a bit pricey, but if i can customize the back ground from a rock/mountain/tree trunk of my choice it would be so worth having a one of a kind back ground.

The products are from smooth on. (not sure if i can post a link to their site, so let me know.)

Polygem makes a fish safe epoxy putty that can used to sculpt backgrounds, trees, fish tank inserts like corals. The epoxy is painted with water-based paints and then coated with clear fish safe epoxy paint. A lot of tank decorations are made this way.

Polyurea is fish safe. One big background manufacturer makes rocky backgrounds from polyurea and crushed rock sprayed into silicone molds.
