Is there anyone can tell me what's happen to my discus? My discus "blue diamond" body become dark. what's going on? I just bought from LFS last week. I keep it in the tank with new water, heater "27celcius" and dark water. Anything is wrong from here? He eating when i'm feed him. I'm my mind, since he going to eat, so i don't think he is sick. BUT how come his body colors become dark?:screwy:

Assuming all your water parameters are fine, pH, temp, aged water, then it could be a couple things. First and worst is black discus disease. A parasite. Discus will eat but, get skinny and die never gaining back color. It could be shock due to something in or with the tank and/or tankmates. If its BDD there a couple cures ranging from lowering pH to adding garlic to its diet. But first, test your water and let us know the outcome.

Blue Diamonds have no "stress bars" or peppering. So when they are resting, or slightly stressed or anything else, they will darken in color. I have seen them darken until they were not blue at all when spooked. A dark background will make them darken as well. Blue Diamonds in my experience, also tend to be a little more sensitive to water quality than other discus. They can be a good indicator of your water quality. Kind of like "the canary in the coal mine". I have 12 of them, and they always show their best blue color right after a water change.
