So my i was given this cascade canister. It had an intake but the out take is this giant spray bar. Does anyone know if this is removable? Also is it beneficial in anyway to keep it?

Mine was the same way when I first bought it. I replaced the hoses, so yes you can remove it. A spray bar controls the flow in a different way, spreads it out and helps aerate the water. IMO its all just a preference and if you dont want a spray bar just modify the cascade. Its a great filter

more oxygenation with a spraybar. it also makes for a gentler return, no strong stream for the fish to play in (or hide from if they prefer still water).

Thanks. I opted to remove the spray then, it was unsightly and i rather have the heavy stream of water. There will be regular hand on back so dont need to worry about oxygen.

I hope this filter isnt a pain to find. Any alternatives?
