I was thinking of feeding my Dovii fozen Perch Filets. Can anyone think of any problems with this? Thanks for the help.

it shouldnt be to much of a problem it might take a couple weeks to get the fish used to eating them and be sure to vary the diet because baitfish and feeders can be high in fat which can form fat cells around the the internal organs and can lead to premature death if not varied with other foods for a nutricious diet.

Thanks I should have stated that this would be feed as a treat not his staple. He is on Hikari Gold as a staple. Just looking to mix it up a little. I also feed market shrimp here and there.

you could also try earthworms or most types of live worms as a nice treat as well i feed my channel cat and my redtail earthworms as a treat from time to time however like i said only as a treat and if you do make sure you get them yourself most store bought earthworms are cultivated in farm soil that contains chemicals that can possibly be harmfull to your fish

Feeding your fish frozen perch would not be bad, even as a staple diet. Perch are not as high in fat as feeders and bait fish and are more nutritionally complete. Were you thinking of feeding whole or just filets (whole would be better-as they are more balanced). My redtail eats whiting filets with a few krill and carnivore pellets. I feed whole shrimp, beefheart and small convicts (hope that doesn't offend anyone) as a treat every now and then.
