Been trying to figure this out for a week and want to make sure I get him the right school. He was given to me by a lady who had a school of them but all the other died off. I know this isn't a monster fish but most people here seem pretty knowledgeable. All he does is hide until food comes out then hides again. Would like to get him a school so he can be happy. I have 5 emerald corys but they don't want anything to do with him.

You can get more of them but there is no guarantee he will school with them. Every now and then you come across a fish that for some reason break from the norm. But I also think that is another element of the hobby when it comes to fish. You never know what to expect. So I learned to accept what they do allow me.

Probably a Julii. There are a few very similar species, though. Get 5ish of the most similar fish you can manage, and they'll either be the right species or something close enough that he won't be able to tell the difference.

I have 4 species of cory, and they pretty much stick with their own, matter of fact have to find more pepper cory for the lonely one.

My guess would be a punctatus (sp?) But again, I'm no expert. :)
