but that's a long time ago.
When ppl say Rapps Umbee, or whateverr fish, does it mean he only carry his only one line ever since they are called Rapps fish? Like a true one solid blood line that he sells.
I always see pll use his name on their fish. Because he's well known in the fish biz.
What if one of his trusty breeders he know and friends breed them then they go to Rapps? Then some of you buy them and call them Rapps fish? May be trusty in the type of fish but may not be the same line
Rapps knows where his fish come from, he wouldn't sell someone something he wasn't completely satisfied with.
That's not what Im talking about. And if you get the right fish you should be satisfied. It's simple..
My question is about the line of the fish being the same or not through the years for one to call it Rapps line.
From Rapps U can pretty much trust the fish are correct breeds I guess , but as for ppl using his name with their fish like a bloodline is a trip.
1 example: Trace's Umbee is different and this is Umbee is Different in the link. Both came from Rapps. But their bloodline are not related.
Trusty fish but bloodline might be different is what Im saying. PPl say Rapps fish like it's a bloodline that's been around. Mr Rapps been around yes. And he sells all sorts of fish.

Does Jeff have his own bloodline? He sells more than one variety of umbee and I believe he has sold varieties that are no longer available.
What you say is true and I'm sure he imports in fish from other breeders all the time. That being said I would rather them have his stamp of approval on them than just buy no name fish. Same goes for any reputable breeder/vendor. It's better to have some precedence than none at all. But most importantly, look the fish over if you can. Try and get one exhibiting the traits you want. Where the op is in Britain his options are more limited than ours. If I were going to buy a new umbee it would likely come from Dan of COA not rapps because as a whole, I like the fish I'm seeing from him better than most of rapps umbees. His male is a stud and IMO one of the only ones I hold the bar up to my own male and feel is on the same level. Again just my opinion many if you may not agree with that, different strokes for different folks

I understand n agree.
But ppl should understand Rapps fish is a fish bought from Rapps. Not bred as Rapps line and dont expect the same line of fish all the time after some time gone by.
