Hi!

Just bougt one from a local Lfs. Never seen one before, and I just found out what it was. I think they are pretty rare, at least in Norway. Anyone got any info on this cool looking fish?:cool-1:

They're fairly common here in the US. This is a LARGE brackish water goby that reaches aroung 2 feet in length. The one I had could eat fish up to 2/3s its own size. Young gobys are moderately active and can be intolerant of conspecifics. Older gobies are less active and seem to only care about food. Tankmates are tolerated but must be AT LEAST the same size as the goby.

Is it only brackish? I've read that it can live in both freshwater and brackishwater. But if it's only brackish than I guess I have to sell it. (damn, just started to like it)
I actually thought it was a wolf fish when I bought it. But when I got it home I realised that it wasen't :irked:

Can be kept in FW so long as high neutral to alkaline conditions are maintained. It does better with some salt in aquarium conditions to fend off fungal infections. Hope you have a large tank. These gobies are fast-growing and put out alot of waste.
