Trying to decide between jardini and leichardti. Anyone got full grow pics of the side of leichardti? I more or less just want to see how it colors up. Most I have seen are babys.

what is there to decide? get the leichardti, jardini are a dime a dozen. lei's have way more color, way better resale value. i can't even get rid of a 20" jardini, but if it was a 20" leichardti i guarantee u it would get snatched up in like 2 mins. on top of that jardinis cant NOT have tankmats almost never. leis' you can. leis' have more of an asian aro appeal, pickin up mine tonight :)

lol.. I guess just wanted to see what a full grown one looks like. I don't buy fish cause it's the new in thing. I like jardini's nice and fat, but never seen a full size leichardti to know what it looks like. And I'm not planning on selling such a fish so that wouldn't matter to me.

yeah I saw that. Thats the only one around 30" I've ever seen. Largest I've seen was probably 15" or so and it had a little color but not red like steve's. Is that what someone should expect out of a leichardti at 30" to be really red colored?

the new "in thing" ?

All I meant is the rareness of the fish doesn't mean I like that fish. ;)

Wow thanks for the good pics. Didn't realize they had teeth.

Do they all get that growth up in front on the barbels or is this fish just running into stuff and getting a bump or "chimple"?

I'm not a Leichardti expert, but I'm pretty sure that's one diff between jardini and lei. The lei has barbels that point to the sides and down, vs. the jar which point straight and out front (typically). If it helps, try searching for spotted saratoga, spotted arowana, leichardti saratoga etc.
