Since glowfish came out I wanted to do a glow-in-the-dark tank with glofish in it.
Well, it's in progress, gonna get some more neon plants and have more glofish on the way.
I'm debating on wether or not to add a regular bulb on there. The blue makes the green ones look radioactive, but it kinda takes away from the pink/orange ones.

Pink/orange glowfish show under normal light while the GFP enhanced (green) glofish are better viewed under black light

Its true that glofish do should be viewed in blacklight. however, do not expose yourself or your fish too long in black light. this may affect your eyes. your glofish may get blind too!!!

The post is over a year old. Do you have any medical evidence to back these claims? I know that black light does not have a drastic adverse effect on the human eye because it's used fairly regularly at parties and raves. I don't know the effect of black light on the danios, but I do know that they've got a good bit of retina regenerative ability as the lab I worked in used them in those types of studies.

oooops, didn't look at the date :S I've read that on a website a couple of years back... i don't remember which one though. Are you sure that the black light doesn't affect much human eyes?? We're never too cautios...

that tank makes my eyes hurt  my daughter has always wanted the "pink fish" maybe if they werent $6 each for basically zebra danios
