Hey everyone, ive moved to aus from the us and all the fish i want are illegal lol. just wondering if anyones got mosters down here, like big amazon cats. are there any big fish here that arnt illegal other than barra and togas? lets see some pics

Um, in short, it depends. haha.
I know there are some monsters floating around the place, its just a matter of right place, right time. I dont know what it's like in SA though...
I've seen some decent redtail cats, lungfish, and proper arowanas here, but you are right... It is illlegal to sell them.
So in short, I guess yes, but you have to look hard...

hey yeah ive heard of red tails for like $500 but thats to much for me. i was curious if any of the other amazon cats were legal. maybe something that stays under 24". ive got 2 jags and a dempsey going in my 250gl when its finished. id like to put something with them but im not sure what

Haha. Welcome to Australia, where they will let boat people in by the thousands, but you cant import decent fish...

lol yeah thats true but i was talkin about fishing. this murray "river" is a dead lake. and the saltwaters not much better
