As the title really, have an opportunity for some rapps fish as a uk importer is doing a rapps import, happens once or twice a year and I always miss it! as a lot of you know I love amphs and the chance of some true citrinellus is almost too good to pass up.
I mailed jeff for some adult pics but I was wondering if any of you lot have then, what their personality is like and hopeing for some examples of larger fish?

That's good, would like a real chunky midas is all, not sure whether to wait and get a hogaboomorum from his next cots order.... Hmm.

I know chancho are the biggest but ive not seen a real monster chancho? I know fishman09's hoga is a monster tho, anyone got any pics of a large chancho?

thanks rd, much appreciated. I'm leaning hoga atm, can also hit 16 inch right? not sure atm, thinking I might have to hold back on the rapps order then.... I have a huge mix of fish in my 300g atm and I'm seriously contemplating finding them all good homes and doing something I haven't tried yet, either a lone predator, possibly channa or a big pair of cichlids either black umbee, dovii or big amph. dovii are awesome but getting pretty common here in the uk so fry might become an issue, I'm not sure many people know what a hoga or chancho is but that doesn't spure me away from possibly creating some interest. The umbee are cool and would be easy to sell on but I'm more into the said amphs than either even if they have less colour and are less showy.
The flip side is I already have a male dovii grow out, an unkown umbee growout and a pretty peaceful bunch of colourful fish in the 300g! I'm always adding and removing fish and changing stock in there, sometimes over stocked, sometimes under.... gets tiresome. I think a pair is the way forward, is the 300g (7ft L x 34" W x 24" T) eventually too small for a dovii or umbee pair?

IMHO that would be fine, your gonna have people say that it would be small but the truth is that a 300 should be plenty, again that is my opinion, not trying to start an argument. I love dovii and Umbee. I think either is a great choice and i totally agree with the choice to switch to a pair. I think that, like you said, if the dovii are getting very common and you are looking to sell then go with umbee, but both are big, personable, beautiful, mean and the whole 9 yards lol. I dont know how u plan on getting the pair, whether it be getting a group of growouts, finding two big ones and trying to pair them or just buying a pair(if u can find one) but either way i think they are a great choice

Awesome video, thanks for that.
