Well if your here you understand how Dats mouths actually come out of the heads to eat.
Ive got a 2-3 inch dat thats had a sort-of nauchal hump on its forhead, it seems as this may be stopping his mouth from retracting properly because once and a while when hes eating he will play with it trying to get it back in, but today hes having a really rough time and its getting stuck for long periods...hes prolly done for huh?

PS: i took a video and will upload tonite after class for future reference

well yeh id almost think common sense would tell you itd be possible because of the way their mouth works, but has anyone else had this happen frequently or had problems occur from this? Because i think why its happening so bad may have to do with his weird shaped head (you can see his weird shaped head in a picture of my two Dats in "My Albums").

That is a weird shaped head. But who knows if thats why its mouth gets stuck. I have normals get stuck. I fed a 5inch crayfish to one of mine and a smaller guy got a hold of it before the big guy and it was having trouble with it and its mouth was stuck open for a while. He eventually got it out but the mouth wouldnt close shut completely.... then it went back in place by itself. Ive seen vids about people in asia put there mouths back in place.

Weird,never seen this before.

Wow, you're right... the NTT on the right has a very odd shaped head.
