I was wondering if anyone could share an experience they had of unsafe plastic and/or other types of decorations leaking toxins and killing fish. How long does it take and what are the symptoms??
Anyone had unsafe decorations kill their fish??

I had some feeders in a QT tank go suicidal by hiding in some driftwood and got stuck 
Symptoms were no gill flap or tail/fins moving.
Eyes like you already know its a wrap
But on the serious note, the decorations that can kill your fish are sharp driftwood. Odd things that you may find outside such as rocks & wood which needs to be boiled to kill all parasites that may be living in it or has been exposed to such toxins. On the safe side, sand down pointed edges on driftwood and you should be ok. Maybe other MFKers can chime in on their experiences.

Yes. I have had fake wood kill my plecos. Took me a while to figure out what the issue was but once I removed the fake wood no more problems.
No deaths, but i had a large pc of driftwood leech something into the water nearly killing a baby widebar and thinbar. The pc of wood had been wrapped up in a trash bag from when i moved.
Sometimes you don't see any but often times you can see the fish gasping for air and not moving very much. I have even had issues with rocks and wood that have not been in water for a long time.
