i know its not an aquarium fish. but if theres a place where people keep non aquaium fish its here. we were eating at chinese restaurant when i noticed this fish. i bought one live about 1 and 1/2 feet long and took it straight home. threw it in the 200 gal with my 2 6" oscars, a giant snakehead about 10" long. a 10 inch spotted gar and 3 8" common bichirs. will he be okay? he's the biggest but i dont trust the snakehead. he's been tankmates with the others for a month now without killing them though.
anyone has experience thith american eel?

where the hell did you get a snakehead?! and if he hasnt killed anyone yet, i guess you've been keeping him WELL fed daily, dont slip up with that, or he'll slaughter your fish.
Take it from someone who's tried snakeheads and eels - it doesn't work. Snakeheads end up eating them. I currently have 30+ American eels - 3 over 2.5 feet and the rest are around 6-10 inches. They're easy to keep, just make sure that they can't escape from your tank.
