Curious as to what size tank it is taking, ages/sex of the fish and how well it is working out.

Love the festae coloration and I have always liked the idea of a 'Terror Tank' but the RTs are one nasty little fish.

Heres my GT in a 100 gallon Tall tank 48" x 18" x 30"tall

GT was boss actually. Festae was quite passive. Had them in with full grown fish like midas (female), H. carpintis "Escondido" (female), V. argentea (male), P. splendida (male), devil (male), along with smaller guys.

Very interesting.

My limited research on RT's led me to believe in anything smaller then a 300 gallon tank they would more or less kill all of their tank mates, unless the RTs were a mated pair.

I think you might have that a bit backwards. Solo, I don't see them as being very aggressive. But as with all cichlids, all bets are off when they're breeding.

All the red terrors ive had were not very agressive at all, even when one decided to breed with another cichlid I had, the most she'd ever do is nip at the silver dollars. It would be possible as long as you had space for them.

I have a pair of RT's 7.5" female & 11.5" Male,In a 75.They were in a 135 Ca/Sa community but have become too agressive to keep with others.Festae start out mild and get more agressive with size and maturity.Female is alittle over 2yrs and 3 for the male.I also have a 2.5" glassbanging Festae.
