I picked up a cuban cichlid about probably a month and a half ago maybe a little more. He was super tiny when I got him maybe like .5" and he is packing on the size super fast! He is starting to get some patterning in now. I am just curious how many people have had them long term? He is probably my favorite in tank. Would like to see some personal pictures of what adults look like. Google has kinda crappy pictures. Thanks.

I had Cubans and I can tell you they are awesome cichlids. The ones I had had amazing color and were nice size. But I had some that seemed to never grow. Like maixmum size was 3 inches.

The adult male maxed out at about 10"+, the female 5" -6" when I had them.
I gave the pair to another (not so active these days) MFK member, and not sure how much/if any, they grew after that.
Mine had a 125 gal all to themselves. And as some may already know, I'm into every other day water changes (sometimes every day, in summer).
The member they went to, put them in a 220 gal cichlid community (if I remember right).

If you have a large enough tank, over 200 gallons there is a chance, but in smaller tanks they are normally very intolerant of other cichlids.
